David Simpson, Photographer, Film Director and FlowerArtist

David Simpson has been photographing flowers for many years as a personal and private interest. All of the flowers in this collection were photographed in David and his wife, Jean’s, flower garden on the property of their Maryland estate. Every flower and plant was considered, planted and every blossom tended with the ultimate goal of beautifying the country landscape. Some favorite flowers you might recognize in the FlowerArt image collections are Clematis, Anemone, Delphinium, Lilly, and Rose varieties.

The David Simpson story is one that can be told in many ways. His experience in bringing creative imagery and concepts to life is great and multi-faceted, running the gamut from small to multi-million dollar print and film productions. He has worked in virtually every major city in the US and Canada and for a wide variety of clients. His work has been recognized by the Richmond Ad Club with a Best in Show Award and in the Telly Awards competition, The Ad Council commended his efforts in directing Laura Bush in the "Speak to your Children" campaign following the September 11th tragedy.

As an advertising photographer, David has traveled extensively shooting models, real people, landscapes, hotels, yachts, sports, and business situations for some of the most respected companies and institutions in the world. As a director, Simpson has filmed an impressive collection of advertising commercials and documentary films as well.

His clients have been very diverse and include such corporations and organizations as Maryland Tourism, MasterCard, Carmax, Aflac, McDonald’s, United Jewish Appeal, Heinekin, Proctor & Gamble, Texas Lottery, Discovery Communications, New York Life, Prudential, Coca Cola, B.C. Telecom, Southwest Airlines, Kaiser Permanente, Boeing, Stouffer, Rhone Poulenc, Hyatt, and Westinghouse.

When art gallery owners, museums, art studios, art collectors, and other interior design professionals discovered his incredible talent in depicting flower art in a whole new way, requests for exhibits, shows and purchases spawned a whole new following. Simpson’s FlowerArt catalog consists of over 34,000 flower images and have generated interest, gallery showings, and purchases from all over the world. Requests to make a special selection of that catalog available to the public gave rise to creating and managing the FlowerArt.net web site.
